If you have any accessibility concerns, please let us know or check with us before booking. info@oaststudio.co.uk Learn some essential sewing skills as we explore the art of making a classic patchwork cushion. We will spend the morning selection fabrics and creating a 3x3 square patchwork panel. Once this is ready - and we have enjoyed a delicious lunch, we will have the afternoon to turn this panel into a beautiful cushion ready for the sofa. We have a good selection of fabric remnants to choose from, but you are also welcome to bring along any pieces you may like to include. Please avoid any velvets of fabrics with a nap. You will learn: How to set up your sewing machine - and some trouble shooting How to understand the different qualities of fabric How to assemble your patchwork pieces How to sew and finish seams neatly How to turn your patchwork into a beautiful cushion The Oast Studio is a wonderfully cosy place to spend some quality time with like minded individuals, being creative and chatting the hours away. To make things even better, Alison, from The Oast Bakery, will keep us fed and watered with her delicious home baked treats. What's included: A large selection of fabric remnants One 45cm x 45cm cushion pad All other materials needed Tea, coffee and custard tarts on arrival A delicious home-made lunch You are welcome to bring your own sewing machine, or use one of ours.
